Rethreading dies are manufactured specifically for restoring damaged bolts or studs. Do not use rethreading dies on hardened threads or to cut new threads. These thread restorers are meant to chase current threads as a maintenance application.

Rethreading dies will not crosscut or undercut threads the way a cutting die will. Century’s right hand rethreading dies are designed for hand applications only; use with a die stock, socket, or wrench for easy turning (clockwise direction). Made from high carbon alloy steel for consistent threading and a longer, more useful life in metal.
